Public Holidays 2020 in the Netherlands
New year’s day is not a holiday which is celebrated across the world and there is a holiday in every part of the world and the same on the Netherlands. It is the beginning of the year and it is on the 1st of January in the year 2020. The next holiday of the Netherlands is Good Friday which is on the 10th of April 2020. It is the day when some christens go to church services or take fast or do not eat meat, different people have different ways of expressing their love and celebrate the festival. In the Netherlands, it is a public holiday, private sectors may be open and working but banks and post offices are closed. People go on vacations and trips as the coming days are also holidays as Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
King’s Day is another festival and a public holiday in the Netherlands which is celebrated on the 27th of April 2020. On this day, most of the government sectors are closed like banks and post offices and also many businesses but some private sectors still work. It is the celebration which starts an evening before the holiday, people put stalls and sell scrap things and things which are related to the celebration.

Liberation Day is a major event in the Netherland and it celebrated after every 5 years and it will be coming on the 5th of May of the year 2020. It is the celebration of freedom and the end of the 2nd World War for the Netherlands. There are many small celebrations in every region of the country but officially it is celebrated in every 5 years. The banks and post offices and many other business houses are closed but some still remained open.
From Good Friday to Ascension Day, if the holidays between held close to each other then some schools give students a week or half-holiday and some people also take advantage of it and take the annual holiday and go on a short trip. The next holiday is Whit Monday which is on June 1st, 2020 and is celebrated by doing outdoor activities together with your family and loved once. After that Christmas is the second last holiday of the year which we all know celebrated on 25th of December annually and after Christmas, there is a festival in the Netherlands called 2nd Day of Christmas and is celebrated almost the same as the Christmas Day.
